Hillary Watch: Dubious Endorsements
Mrs. Bill Clinton garners endorsements from a has-been presidential candidate and the National Association of Gals otherwise known as the National Organization for Women.
For someone who turned $1,000 into $100,000 in the cattle futures market, the deal Mrs. Bill Clinton apparently cut with failed presidential candidate and crappy ex-Iowa governor Tom Vilsack is a real stinker:
Democratic presidential contender Hillary Rodham Clinton has agreed to help one-time candidate Tom Vilsack, who endorsed her on Monday, as he seeks to retire a campaign debt of more than $400,000.Clinton spokesman Mark Daley said he was uncertain how Clinton would go about raising money for Vilsack, but he conceded that at some point, she would have to contact her supporters. "Someone in her shop is going to have to reach out," Daley said.
Vilsack and his wife, Christie, endorsed Clinton in her bid for the Democratic nomination at an Iowa news conference on Monday. Daley said there was no connection between the fundraising and the endorsement.
"There was no quid pro quo," Daley said. "They have a long history and if she could be helpful she wants to be helpful."
Yeah, and if you are stupid enough to believe that there really is "no quid pro quo", you'll probably also believe that my sex change operation is scheduled for the day after tomorrow.
Vilsack never was in this thing to attain the Democratic presidential nomination -- it was always all about some lofty position in a Democratic administration's cabinet -- perhaps even VP. Getting his campaign debt paid off is just an added bonus.
As far as getting asked to be on the ticket as VP goes, Vilsack would be the perfect nobody to stay out of the way of the Queen of the Democratic Party and not step all over her easily-bruised ego. He's also a big enough guy with a hard enough head that if he did get in the way of Hillary when she was on one of her famous large-heavy-object-throwing jags he could emerge relatively unscathed.
Rush Limbaugh, the guy who took to calling Mrs. Bill Clinton Mrs. Bill Clinton in recognition of the fact that she is nothing when she's not standing by her man -- The Philanderer -- also coined the term the National Association of Gals to describe that gaggle of angry mean-spirited lesbo-feminazis that purport to represent women. And the gaggle of lesbo-feminazis is going to endorse Mrs. Bill Clinton tomorrow:
Sources tell WNBC.com that Hillary Clinton will pick up the endorsement of the National Organization of Women Wednesday. The NOW Political Action Committee is alerting reporters that their 2008 Election Announcement will close out Women's History Month with news "that's sure to energize women's supporters across the nation."
A news conference is scheduled for Wednesday at Sewall-Belmont House in Washington, DC at 12:30pm
The endorsement of a hard-left ex-governor who would have turned Iowa into the most liberal state in the nation if only he would have had Democrat majorities in the legislature (like his protégé and predecessor is doing right now) and the feminazi group for which real men are sworn enemies and abortion is a religious sacrament. As us conservatives have told you all along: This is no mainstream presidential candidacy.

Gingrich Watch:
Kerry,
You should take a look at the latest Charlie Rose interview with Newt Gingrich. You will find even less to like about him. One of his opening statements was that the next US president needed to go around the world and basically sit down for a half a day and listen to any world leaders who want to air their views about America and American behavior. I just about died.
He even chided Bush for his behavior in the handling of the Kyoto treaty, and his general heavy handed and arrogant behavior toward world leaders.
If there is one thing Gingrich has always been is one to talk the talk of moderation, but who knows what actually lies under the sheep's clothing.
I definitely don't think he's as easy to pin down as you think.

Ahmanrah,
You need to stay on point. There are steps that Steve or I could take if you continue to disrupt the dialogue with the introduction of tangential material. Save this for a time when we are discussing Newt.

It will be interesting to see, when the candidates file their reports on April 15, exactly what Vilsack managed to spend $400,000 on in just 3 months. Given that he is the immediately former governor of the state of the nation's first caucus, he should have had every advantage and shouldn't have needed to spend much.
Is this how he handled the state's money, too?

Kerry,
The day this board is fair and balanced is the day the sun will rise in the West.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what this comment relates to. I didn't realize we were discussing balance, or the sunrise. What are you talking about?

ahmanrah,
This board is a conservative topics forum. As far as the balance of the comments goes, if some of you liberals could actually hold your own in a rational argumet, there might be some. But we all know liberals are incapable of rational arguments.
Kerry,
Yeah, Vilsack managed to turn a billion dollar surplus into a deficit in his first term and his idea of "economic development" was to create a slush fund to bribe companies to stay in the state. Funny how, by his second term he was paying those companies slush fund money again because they ran through what they got the first time and threatened to leave unless they got more. A recent analysis of this slush fund -- the Iowa "values" fund it is called -- showed that the number od jobs "created" by it were exagerated by 200%.
Vilsack's successor -- the boy governor Chester Culver -- the first gen-X governor (goody, goody) will chase away any economic development with his pursuit of the elmination of right to work in this state. We also got a $1 a pack hike in the cig. tax, an anti-bullying bill that targets only gay teens and we're about to get civil rights protection for people based on their affinity for sodomy.
Liberal governors -- ya' gotta hate 'em.

"liberals are incapable of rational arguments."
Steve,
Since science is the bastion of rational reasoned thought (and is dominated by liberals), and religion is the bastion of irrational faith and trust (and dominated by conservatives), your statement hardly holds much water.

Perfect example of my previous thought.
Encountering electricity for the first time:
Rational liberal scientist. Studies, analyzes, and calculates that if he sticks his finger in a light socket he's going to get zapped.
Irrational conservative. Looks at light socket, consult his holy book, and trusting his faith in God determines he is safe. Sticks his finger in light socket and gets shocked every time.

And then of course the religious disciple that was behind the shocked man has a revelation , and decides the man in front of him isn't close enough to God, because he should have known better.

[Apparently ahman isn't RATIONAL enough to understand that when something is called "Conservative News & Opinion, it isn't going to tout the other sides take on the news in the threads.] I subscribe to NOW's newsletter to see what they are up to. Kim Gandy is in a frenzy over Hillary. Gandy may have to pledge her allegiance to a [gasp] man, if Hillary doesn't get the dem nomination. But she'll suck it up and do it for the sake of the leftist cause.

I wouldn't rag on ahmanrah too much. He fits the general stereotype of a clueless liberal. Absolutely obsessed with all things and people conservative and critical of conservative philosphy, completely incapable of developing their own solutions, positions, or policies.

Perfect example of a liberals' idea of "evidence." He makes up a story that proves his point, based on exactly nothing, then convinces himself it is sufficient to justify his prejudices.

Fill in the blanks! There's no wrong answer!

Vilsack's endorsement in Iowa is only as good as the votes he gave back to felons. It holds no weight among other Iowans and it's foolish to think otherwise. He is sucking up to her in hopes that she will toss him a cabinet seat bone.
