No Indictment For Karl Rove

In the "CIA leak scandal" in which non-spy Valerie Plame's non-covert identity was not leaked.

In what will come as a terrible blow to liberal hack bloggers everywhere, particularly the ones at the "Truthout" web site, the site which was reporting Karl Rove's indictment three weeks ago, special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has announced that Rove will not be indicted in the "CIA leak scandal":

WASHINGTON, June 13 — The prosecutor in the C.I.A. leak case on Monday advised Karl Rove, the senior White House adviser, that he would not be charged with any wrongdoing, effectively ending the nearly three-year criminal investigation that had at times focused intensely on Mr. Rove.

The decision by the prosecutor, Patrick J. Fitzgerald, announced in a letter to Mr. Rove's lawyer, Robert D. Luskin, lifted a pall that had hung over Mr. Rove who testified on five occasions to a federal grand jury about his involvement in the disclosure of an intelligence officer's identity.

In a statement, Mr. Luskin said, "On June 12, 2006, Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald formally advised us that he does not anticipate seeking charges against Karl Rove."

Mr. Fitzgerald's spokesman, Randall Samborn, said he would not comment on Mr. Rove's status.

For months Mr. Fitzgerald's investigation appeared to threaten Mr. Rove's standing as Mr. Bush's closest political adviser as the prosecutor riveted his focus on whether Mr. Rove tried to intentionally conceal a conversation he had with a Time magazine reporter in the week before the name of intelligence officer, Valerie Plame Wilson, became public.

Correction: The liberal media and liberal bloggers wanted so much to believe that Karl Rove was going to be indicted because they hate him so much: There was never really any indication from anyone who knew what they were talking about that Rove was going to be indicted for anything. This is a prime example of what you get when the liberal media substitutes wild speculation for facts, something they are doing with increasing frequency these days especially in regards to conservatives they hate.

The "CIA leak scandal" appears to be falling apart fast although Fitzgerald is hanging on to every little shred of rampant speculation he can in a futile attempt to keep it alive. What are we left with now? Alleged perjury committed by Scooter Libby in the release of the name of an alleged spy who wasn't really a spy who was "outed" by her own husband in Vanity Fair magazine. What a joke.

Interesting how "Truthout" isn't exactly racing to press with this news this morning. When it comes to getting the real truth out, it appears they just aren't in that much of a hurry.

But, I'm sure with 4 other grand jury investigations, the special prosecuter... ahem, Ronnie Earl... would have no trouble getting an indictment.
