Duke Rape Case Falling Apart
Even more than it already was if that's possible. A 1300-page document dump by prosecutor Mike Nifong reportedly shows that the accuser changed her story as much as she changes her panties, or G string or string bikinis or whatever it is that "exotic dancers" change frequently:
DURHAM, N.C. — The woman who has accused three members of the Duke University lacrosse team of raping her at an off-campus party told investigators several different stories about the night of the alleged incident, sources close to the defense team representing the players have told FOX News. The differing accounts are included in the 1,300 pages of evidence delivered to defense lawyers last week by Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong, the sources said.
Nifong had no immediate comment on the information said to be included in the documents. The information also has not been verified by police sources.
Meanwhile, the Durham Herald Sun reported Tuesday that medical records of the 27-year-old accuser suggest she might not have been tested for drugs or alcohol, according to a defense filing Monday. Defense lawyers for suspect Reade Seligmann say they were not given any toxicology reports by Nifong.
Nifong told a local Durham radio station that he turned over all the evidence he has and that he will hand over any new information to the defense when he gets it.
Tonight, Fox News is reporting that Nifong, who spent the first few weeks of the case holding 70 press conferences seemingly for the sole purpose smearing the defendants, will now seek a gag order in the case. Apparently he can dish it out but he can't take it.
Fox News is also reporting that an ethics complaint is going to be filed against Nifong and Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano was opining tonight on the O'Reilly Factor that going forward with such a weak case could result in Nifong being stripped of his license to practice law. So much for the Duke rape case.

Sounds like 'Radical Redneck' is a gay-boy!

Definitely gay. As Rabbi Boteach put it, "If the definition of a heterosexual man is a male who is attracted to women, then most men today are barely heterosexual." Using the word "hooch" is hardly a way to attract women.
Maybe he'll run into the Duke guys in jail. They can have sex with each between courtyard LaCrosse games.

notimpressed with what, your joke?
Seriously, bad joke. To be attracted to and to attract are two entirely different things. Your quip makes no sense. You've been beaten by a bad pun, Mr. notimpressed, and that is certainly not impressive.

I haven't kept up on this but......
but do you think the DEFENSE is going to go to the press with a story CONFIRMING the accusations?
Hell, this doesn't even mention a contradiction in her story.

"but do you think the DEFENSE is going to go to the press with a story CONFIRMING the accusations?"
No. No I do not. However...
The defense is outrageously unlike to issue outright lies to the media. This isn't done. Not only could it risk ethics violations that could endanger thier right to practice law (A problem Nifong will now most likely face) it is too possible for such tricks to backfire and end up convicting your client.
And Nifong was first to hit the media, he issued 70 interviews in the span of 9 and three-quarter minutes. Then suddenly, the facts started going the other way and he shut his yap right quick.
At least some of the accused have nearly air-tight (and independant-of-the-defence-verified) alibies. In fact, much of what the defense is saying can be (and has been) verified by the media independant of the defense lawyers.
And the woman's story never made good sense to begin with. Not the least of which because you're not sure which story she's claiming is the real one: she had 4 or 5 versions of the event out before you could finish asking the questions about 1.
I'm entirely prepared to spin 180 and condemn these guys and recommend castration if it turns out the only problem with Nifong is he accidently stabbed himself in the leg with a rusty fork halfway through releasing his evidence to the press and now suffers from lockjaw.
But I'll give you 9-1 odds in favor of the Lacrosse team.
Or ...should I say, ex-lacrosse team, seeing as how the season has been cancelled, with talk of the school never fielding a team again, the coach has retired, Black Panthers have decended upon the campus, and several of the players allready transfered. But you know..innocent until proven guilty.

>>The defense is outrageously unlike to issue outright lies to the media.
I guess I was inaccurate as well but...
...it isn't the defense making these statements but "sources close to the defense."
What level of responsibility do sources close to the defense carry?

No, they are not.
The records from the accused's ATM card did not come from "sources close to the defense" unless you consider the media's investigators and reporters such.
The records from the accused's cell phone did not come from "sources close to the defense" unless you consider the media's investigators and reporters such.
The fact that the other stripper present at the party called a public relations firm and asked how she might use this story to her favor did not come from "sources close to the defense" unless you consider the public relations firm she called such.
The fact that the other stripper at the party originally told police one story, and only began collaberating with the 'victims' story after D.A. Nifong leveraged her in her OWN criminal case does no come from "sources close to the defense" unless you consider the district attorney's office such.
The fact that the Taxi driver originally said he heard nothing, and only began to give hinting testimony after the police arrested him and charged him with another crime does not come from "sources close to the defense" unless you consider the police department such.
What about the neighbor, who verifies the time the stripper arrived? Source close to the defense?
What about the time-stamped camera, which filmed the stripper leaving? Source close to the defense?
What about the criminology lab that found no DNA matches to any of the accused despite the 'victims' story that she was raped by 3 men for 30 minutes without condoms? Source close to the defense?
