Abortion Pill May Be Tied to Deaths

Abortion in a pill wasn't supposed to include body bags and caskets, but tell that to the two women whose recent deaths may be linked to their "right to choose" RU486:

Health regulators in the US have warned doctors to watch for a rare but deadly infection after the abortion pill RU486 was implicated in the deaths of two more women.

At least seven US women have died after taking the pill, sold since 2000. The Food and Drug Administration cannot prove the drug was to blame in any of the cases.

In four cases in California, the women died from an infection of the bloodstream, or sepsis. Those women did not follow FDA-approved instructions for the pill-triggered abortion, which requires swallowing three tablets of one drug, followed by two of another two days later.

Instead of swallowing the final two tablets, the second course of pills was inserted vaginally in the four women, a so-called "off-label" use of the drug that studies show works and is widely recommended by abortion clinics but does not have federal approval.

The FDA has not confirmed the cause of the latest two deaths. But the symptoms appear to match those seen in the California cases, an FDA spokeswoman said. However, it was not immediately known if the second course of pills had been inserted vaginally in the two women, she added. The spokeswoman declined to be identified, saying she could not speak publicly about the issue.

This report is from an Australian news site and Australians have reason to be concerned: They are about to get this wonderful elixir for the "problem" of pregnancy in their country. No wonder they are paying close attention to the problems we're having with pill version of the feminist's holy sacrament.

The abortion pushers at Planned Parenthood estimate that the "morning after pill" has been used 560,000 times and we now have at least seven deaths linked to its use. Doesn't seem like a hell of a lot, does it? But there have been plenty of other drugs that the FDA has banned under similar circumstances, the hype surrounding ephedrine in 2003-04 being just one of many examples. With an estimated 17 million users, 155 average joes, one famous ball player death and dozens of strokes "linked" to ephedrine, it was banned in 2004. But the "link" is debateable at best -- certainly more debatable than the link between sepsis and abortion in general or RU486 in particular.

Predictably, the FDA's response to the deaths linked to the abortion pill has been decidedly more subdued, undoubtedly because RU486 is part of the feminist’s holy sacrament:

The FDA has previously said the abortion pill remains safe enough to stay on the market. The rate of sepsis is about one in 100,000 uses, comparable to infection risks with surgical abortions and childbirth.

So the rate of sepsis associated with the abortion pill is "comparable to the infection risks" associated with childbirth? One difference here: Childbirth in most cases is a natural process through which you bring a child into the world. Abortion with a pill, like abortion in general, is an unnatural process by which you kill a baby you never wanted and shouldn't have created in the first place.

Natural process? Are epidurals natural? C-sections? Ultrascans?

If nature were allowed to run its course, many more women and children would die in child birth.

You seem to have missed this part of the article - The Food and Drug Administration cannot prove the drug was to blame in any of the cases.

Does that get in the way of your agenda?
