All Four July 21 London Bombing Suspects In Custody
London police now believe they have all four suspects from the foiled July 21 bombing.
Roads were sealed off in west London as dozens of police, many armed and some in gas masks, surrounded properties. Two men held in north Kensington were filmed by a witness stripped to the waist after police raided a flat.
Another suspect for the failed Tube and bus bombings has been arrested in Rome. The fourth suspect was detained in Birmingham on Wednesday.
The names of the four in custody are Yasin Hassan Omar, Muktar Said Ibrahim, Ramzi Mohammed, and Osman Hussain. With names like that, how dare authorities profile? Who can tell they're muslim?
And how long before someone starts complaining about the indignity of the latest arrest, immortalized on the front pages of London newspapers today.

How soon before this arrest is compared to the prisoner "abuses" at Abu Ghraib? It didn't take long before even Saddam Hussein threatened a lawsuit over the pictures of him in his underwear.

Yasin Hassan Omar -- Hmmmm... I think that might have been my WASP paternal grandpa's name before he had it legally changed to Bowers.
But seriously -- no need to profile these young Muslim guys who fit the exact profile of EVERY OTHER TERRORIST who has committed acts of terrorism against the Western World since 9/11 and before. So let's go ahead and keep making lactating mothers drink their breast milk, having grannies strip naked while randomly checking every other person who doesn't look like the folks we know to be the bombers.
And while we're at it, we had better let these guys go right away. But not before securing them a good counselor to help them deal with what must be a horrible ordeal of public humiliation -- the shame of being seen stark naked on the cover of papers worldwide. (Gasp.....!!!!!!!!!) The sheer, brutal, inhumanity of it all! Why, it might just drive them to suicide. Wait! Isn't that what they intended to do when they tried and failed to blow themselves up in The Tube?

Denton County, TX edition:
A Denton County constable drove to a Colorado restaurant on Thursday and called a woman he met through the Internet to let her know he had arrived, according to court papers.
Instead of Marsha showing up with her 8-year-old daughter for a sexual encounter, he met her colleagues – Cañon City, Colo., police officers.
Larry Dale Floyd, a 62-year-old constable from The Colony, was arrested on suspicion of soliciting to have sex with a child and was charged with seven related crimes, Cañon City police said.
...
Mr. Floyd has been a Denton County constable since 1993. A Republican, Mr. Floyd was unopposed in his most recent re-election in November.
....
I believe in profiling.

The UK is using law enforcement to fight the war on terror???
What is Bill Clinton Prime Minister? When are they going to stop their limp-wristed attempts to combat terror and go invade a country that attack them?

Funny Tom. WE have also arrested suspected terrorists. For your info, they DID go to a country that attacked them, Iraq. Before you whine there were no terrorists there, remember they had training camps, and harbored others.

Hi Sarge,
Actually these guys didn't exactly fit the profiles of every other terrorist since 9/11. In a number of cases these guys were born and bred in the UK and committed their crimes against the UK. I think that this is unique in a western country so for if not unique it's very unusual.
It has certainly shaken up the Muslim community in the UK and there may well be a radical change currently happening - time will tell. Some complacence has gone.
On racial profiling yes we should target certain groups and white grannies aren't one of them. Young Muslim men and the people who look like them (particularly carrying bags) is the main one. But we should do it sensitively so we don't alienate these people and drive them to be more sympathetic to AQ. Cutting their support away is as vital as fighting them directly.

When did "profiling" get replaced by "racial profiling" in the lexicon? I mean, the FBI has been "profiling" for years....and race is nearly always a factor in a given profile...so why the baiting?
Wouldn't want to offend anyone...
Tom....there's a difference between fighting a War on Terror....and rounding up those that have committed a terrorist act AFTER the act has been committed. It's one aspect, but it was the ONLY aspect under WJC and is ineffectual by itself.
Brit....they came damned close to the profile that SHOULD be in effect...barring the nationality (you think muslims pledge their allegiance to GB?), they're all muslim males ages 15-30. When someone that looks like my grandmother commits an act....even SHE won't complain then, but it's time to leave grannies out of the search for now.
