Sandy Berger to Plead Guilty

Sandy Berger, National Security Adviser to former President William J. Clinton, has agreed to plead guilty to misappropriating classified documents from the National Archives. Fox News and Yahoo News have more.

WASHINGTON — Former national security adviser Sandy Berger will plead guilty to taking classified material from the National Archives, a misdemeanor, the Justice Department said Thursday.

Berger is expected to appear in federal court in Washington on Friday, said Justice spokesman Bryan Sierra.

How very convenient that this comes on a day where it is sure to be overshadowed by other more pressing news stories.

This is really old, new news. Maybe our resident "left of center" will consider writing a piece on DeLay.

Steve, you really can't use the death of Terri Schiavo enough against liberals. Stop him before he exploits again!

And considering the Justice Department made this announcement, the conspiracy to bury this story apparently runs deep through the hallowed halls of Washington. Steve, maybe you should launch an in depth investigation into this. I look forward to the results.

Hey, if you break the law, expect to be punished.

In Roman Law the Judge used to ask "Cui Bono?", for who's good.

Sandy is taking a fall for whom? Hitlery, Blyth, or Sandy. This whole thing reminds me of Kevin Whites term in office as Mayor of Boston, Qui Bono!

We draw ever nearer to the rewriting of history to provide the Clinton Presidency with a position of respect and unending public approval.

Travelgate... Hillary Care... Somalia... Rwanda... Vince Foster... Kathleen Willey... Jennifer Flowers... Monica... World Trade Center Bombing... Paula Jones... Web Hubbell... Dick Morris... Hillary's Billing Records... Impeachment... USS Cole... Khobar Towers... Kenya... Annon's appointment... Whitewater...

Now comes Sandy Berger. He wasn't your average flunky. He was the National Security Advisor. He was the man on the spot who had a birds-eye view of what the terrorists were doing and what they were saying and thinking. His findings, writings, policies, and notes were the top secret thoughts of the President.

He stole Top Secret documents. That's a felony. He committed another felony by destroying them.

Some would call this treason.

Our friends on the left would call it business as usual and expect no more or less from an administration that had no moral compass ever installed and considered the truth to be something that applied to anyone but them.

Yet we are allowing this traitor to walk away with a slap on the wrist.

Huh?

"Confessing" and "pleading guilty" in a court of law are 2 entirely different animals. Of course, you'd understand that if you had a logical brain.

Clint, I don't know what the truth is...but the article calls taking classified materials from the National Archives a MISDEMEANOR...according to the DoJ. I call it domestic espionage but I don't get to make the rules.
