Marie's Bio
When I graduated from high school in 1998, I had no interest in politics. My plan for college was to major in business and then go on to law school. I cannot fathom why this seemed like a good idea.
I struggled for two years as a business major at Indiana University before it became clear that not only was I not very good at my business classes, but I hated them too. I was working on a minor in political science at the time. IÕm still not sure why I chose that Š I was so clueless about all things political that I didnÕt know the differentiation between parties, and I didnÕt even know what the GOP was.
After my non-acceptance to the school of business, I decided it was time to change my major. I had enjoyed my political science classes enough that I chose to switch to that Š my grades were much better, and I loved my classes. I identified with the Republican party at that time, but it wasnÕt until the end of my junior year that I got involved with the IU College Republicans. It just so happened that they brought Ann Coulter Š whom I have always loved Š to IU. I met her, met the College Republicans, and got involved. That summer I interned for a Congressman, which helped me get a job on another Congressional staff once I graduated.
I graduated from IU in May of 2002 with a BA in political science and a minor in history. I stayed at the aforementioned Congressional office for just over a year before moving on Š but IÕm still involved politically.
I still live in Indiana with my husband, a cat, and a dog.
